X3 Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineers

One of our leading clients is currently looking 3 X Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineers.

The Senior Infrastructure Systems Engineers will be required in the current organization to lead and/or contribute into the design and delivery of Projects. She/he acts as the technical lead for related infrastructure projects. She/he collaborates with engineers in the countries that the company is present in and other Corporate departments (Operations and Design)

THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

ENGINEERING DESIGN (MAIN RESPONSIBILITY)

- Understand the business requirements and translate them into technical network solutions (capacity and functionalities), support the budgeting and spend justification process (Bills of Material, network drawings etc.)
- Lead and contribute necessary design and implementation work for new projects in an optimal and cost effective way, according to company technical guidelines
- Produce network engineering solutions and designs, bills of material, implementation & migration plans and documents taking into account all related network elements
- Carry out infrastructure implementations and migrations and handover the new deployments to Operations and to 3rd parties
- Review and validate design and migration plans of consultant engineers

PROBLEM AND COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT

- Deal with major incidents in terms of Tier-3 escalations
- Provide root cause analysis on major incidents and follow up on corrective measures
- Discover and address systematic problems in the network design
- Liaise with the vendors for major incident and problem management

TESTING:

- Perform Lab testing of major software loads and new hardware components
- Perform end to end testing of engineered solutions before the implementation takes place

MERGERS & ACQUISITIONS

- Contribution to the Mergers & Acquisitions process in terms of technical assessments of the networks in question

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Strong knowledge of Datacenter Design with special focus on IP Networks, Security and Application Delivery Solutions
- Solid knowledge of ISP Systems, Mail platforms, DNS, DHCP, IT systems, DTV Back End environments
- Strong knowledge of high end Cisco and Nexus platforms
- Strong knowledge of Checkpoint Firewalls including Management Infrastructure (Provider-1) as well as Firewall Enforcement Points
- Strong knowledge of Remote Access Solutions (eg Checkpoint Connectra/EndPoint Connect)
- Good Experience with Unix Systems and Scripting languages
- Contribute to Network Strategic Architecture Definition
- Contribute to standards and procedures definition, implementation and documentation
- ITIL change/problem management process exposure
- Change request preparation and execution
- Strong requirements/solutions documentation skills
- Expert user of Microsoft Windows, Office Suite and Visio
- Fluent in spoken and written English
- Good interpersonal skills, able communicator

Location: Amsterdam area NL

Duration: 12 months+ extensions 1-2 years
