WORKSTATION PC TECHNICIAN PLEASANTON, CA CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

Support a robust Microsoft based network running XP, Windows 7 and Lotus Notes. Server, PC, MAC and Laptop expertise needed to perform the duties of this position. Under the guidance of IT representatives, duties include the following:

Assignments may include the receiving of assets, moving equipment within and/or between facilities, staging equipment for build/image activity, executing equipment replacement activity, updating asset management system to reflect work performed, monitoring daily activity, installing and maintaining PC hardware and software, troubleshooting network usage and computer peripherals, performing system backups and data recovery, resolving network communication problems independently, e-mail administration, disk capacity monitoring and network security, or preparing assets for disposition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Engage business departments and business partners to schedule refresh of PC equipment.
- Schedule Tech Refresh appointments with business groups, departments and individual business partners.
- Gather data by department of what equipment is eligible for refresh.
- Provide overall management of the deployment schedule, including communicating and publishing schedules.
- Work to resolve difficulties with any business groups who have not scheduled dates for their PC Refresh.
- Follow up with business partners who miss their appointment for refresh of their PC (for reschedule).
- Track the status and location of PCs that are being/have been refreshed.
- Manage the schedule for refresh deployment activity.
- Publish and communicate schedules to the IMO team and the IM.
- Track assets provided to clients for Self Enablement (new PCs or data backup hardware, for example) and following up to ensure their return.
- Track schedules against weekly and monthly Tech Refresh goals.
- Communicate details of applications not compliant with Windows 7 to the Desktop Software Lifecycle Strategy team.
- Consult with the BIO on all communications to the business.
- Assist other Refresh Technicians with refresh assignments as needed.
- Collaborate with teammates to identify process improvements.
- Escalate quickly when issues arise.
- Other duties may include assisting other Technicians with assignments.
- Activity may also involve transporting equipment using a vehicle provided by supplier/contractor between multiple facilities within an assigned service area, as directed by an IT representative.

SKILLS REQUIRED:

- Minimum 2 years experience with PC support, including deployment
- Minimum 2 years experience with PC hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Minimum 1 year experience with direct client interaction
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Skilled in use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Lotus Notes
- Adaptable to changes in process or required activities
- Attention to detail
- Quick learner
- Professional appearance and behavior, including punctuality
