Wireless Network Engineer

Reporting to the Senior Network Engineer the Manager of Wireless Network Environment is charged with providing for design, implementation, management, and troubleshooting for the Wireless Campus Data Network.

In consultation and under the guidance of the Director of the Network Technology Group and the Senior Network Engineer the Manager of Wireless Networks will take responsibility for the existing Wireless Network. He/She will suggest and implement, based on industry standards, improvements to the existing environment He//She will be responsible for the design, installation, testing, implementation, and maintenance of the Hospital Wireless Network, which is currently in the planning phase. He/She will be required to oversee all outside consultants/vendors doing work on this and any wireless projects. Successful candidate will have strong technical skills and above average abilities in planning, solution structure, assessment, analysis, design, architecture, & technical writing.

- Maintain Wireless Network
- Evaluate all existing Wireless Networks and suggest enhancements
- Work with internal staff and outside vendors to design future wireless networks
- In conjunction with internal staff and outside vendors schedule meetings and maintain Microsoft Project data on all ongoing wireless projects
- Study and evaluate new wireless technologies and their application to site
- Evaluate existing Voice of IP network and suggest enhancement
- Serve as a backup to the Senior Network Engineer in the administration and troubleshooting of the network

Experience with the following systems is required: Cisco lOS, Cisco Works 2000, Cisco WCS, Cisco WiSM2, Cisco Clean Access, Cisco ICE, Cisco ACS, Cisco PRIME, F5 Load balancer, DHCP, WhatsUp and syslog server.

Excellent interpersonal, written, communication, analytical, and organizational skills are required. A creative approach to information systems issues and problems, and a demonstrated record of developing and bringing large scale projects on line is a plus

Required Skills

- Hands on experience with Cisco devices
- 5 years of overall data network experience
- 2 years experiences in design of data networks
- Experience in design and implementation of wireless data networks CCNP or CCIE certification
- UNIX/Linux experience required.
