JOB OVERVIEW:
The Client Technologies Engineer is responsible for managing the development, maintenance, support and on-going improvement of the Windows client image through a strong understanding of industry best practices. The analyst will be responsible for ensuring the Windows client image is updated with the latest patches, driver sets, emergency fixes, application updates, and ad-hoc modifications. In addition to the development and maintenance role, the Engineer will also provide advanced troubleshooting for issues that appear to be related to base client operating system or any of the applications that are included in the standard client image. The Client Technologies Engineer will support the development and documentation of the PC Deployment process. The Client Technologies Engineer will also play a key role in the continuous improvement of processes and technologies which support the Windows client environment as a whole.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Client Technologies Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the efficient, reliable and secure operation of the processes and technologies associated with the Windows Client environment. In this context, the duties and responsibilities of the position include the following:
- Defines, develops, maintain, supports and documents for the Windows client image.
- Responsible for the definition, development, maintenance and documentation of the client deployment process.
- Provide third level technical support for the Windows client image, including the operating system and all associated applications; reviews scripts to identify root cause of broken image deployments
- Participate in solution architecture support for projects and initiatives which integrate with the Windows client infrastructure
- Participate in the development of policies, standards, procedures and processes for the reliable and secure operation of the Windows client environment
- Participate in the development of technical standards related to the secure, reliable implementation of new technologies within the Windows client environment.
- Participate in the development and maintenance of the Windows client enterprise architecture including defining and implementing the governance process
- Participate in the research of emerging Windows client based technologies and assess business value of implementation
- Build and develop strong relationships with ITS business area clients by providing superior customer support as demonstrated by clearly owning, resolving and communicating issues and problems; being responsive to needs, requirements, and deadlines; and generally promoting goodwill in a professional and trust-building manner.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of five (5) years relevant, professional experience as a systems administrator for the Microsoft Windows operating system and Windows based technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication; demonstrated ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
- Technical writing experience with understanding of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task, handling a number of projects and initiatives simultaneously, successfully
- Understanding of current hardware offerings for the Intel client platform.
- Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
- Strong written and verbal communications; strong customer service orientation
- Working knowledge of Visual Basic Scripting Tools
- Strong understanding and experience reading and developing VB Scripts.
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
- Intermediate knowledge of Active Directory managing groups and users
- Strong understanding of Group Policy and security settings via GPO
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
- Strong understanding of McAfee EPO and Antivirus
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- Microsoft Certified (Vista, Windows 7)
- Leadership role for the design and implementation of Windows based technologies.
- Experience developing polices, standards, procedures and processes to improve operational efficiencies in a Windows based environment
- Experience working under change management guidelines
- Software packaging skills with Wise Package Studio 7
- Experience Migrating to Windows 7
