WELLNESS PROGRAM SPECIALIST PORTLAND, OR CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY

The Program Coach will work with the coaching team to enhance our clients existing training curriculum designed to improve the fitness, readiness, and resilience of our military. Responsible for effective and appropriate design and creation of training curriculum. Will contribute insight and experience in behavioral health, wellness, resilience and mindfulness techniques, culminating in a credible training program that can be used to train future coaches.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

- Certified in wellness coaching and have a thorough understanding of behavioral health as it relates to overall health
- Working knowledge of existing military wellness programs
- Experience in dealing with mindfulness as it pertains to resilience and total health
- Experience creating and delivering training curriculum
- Demonstrated strong project management skills
- Set direction in terms of strategy for the use of technology and design of on-line training
- Military experience preferred
- Working knowledge of UPenn Positive Psychology program preferred
- Strong communicator; capable of effectively presenting ideas and selling concepts and tactics; excellent writer, proven ability to communicate effectively with executive levels
- Bachelors degree in Behavioral Health or related field, 3 years of experience in designing, building and deploying instructor training curriculum, and experience working with the military in a wellness related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced level or equivalent coaching certificate in a health related field
- Wellness coaching certificate through Wellcoaches, Coachville, CoachU, or other accredited training programs preferred
- Travel may be required, locally or out of state
- May be required to work outside normal hours

GENERAL FUNCTIONS AND OUTCOMES

- Develops curriculum to be used by the training facilitators and/or instructors and training participants.
- Utilizes the principles of instructional design to create instructional and/or learning materials to support the Basefit program strategies and practices.
- Responds positively to change, embracing and using new practices or values to accomplish goals and solve problems. Copes well and helps others deal with the ongoing demands of change; sees and shows others the benefits of change.
- Analyzes the characteristics of existing and emerging technologies and their use in an instructional environment.
- Conducts training and presentations related to use of Basefit program curriculum.
- Develops instructional and participant materials including objectives, training documentation, visual aids, testing, training instruments and course handouts.
- Actively promotes and solicits support for the Basefit program. Builds credibility as a representative by demonstrating personal commitment and sharing information.
- Uses knowledge of audience views and interests, chooses and employs diverse methods, tools, and resources to educate and build enthusiasm in potential partners and supporters.
- Applies logic and complex layers of rules to analyze and categorize complicated information. Sees relationships between information in varied forms and from varied sources.
- Adapts approach, goals, and methods to achieve solutions and results in dynamic situations.
- Remains aware and takes care of details that are easy to overlook or dismiss as insignificant.
