Websphere Application Server Specialist

For IBM Amsterdam I am looking for an Full time WebSphere Application Server specialist on z/Os, start ASAP.

TASKS

- Extensive description of the role and responsibilities involved.
- Installation and maintenance of WAS for z/OS, and Unix System Services related Software.
- Support of day-to-day performance & tuning (infrastructure).
- Advise and assist in project related activities in areas described above.
- Investigate and solve incidents and problems.
- Carry out 'Business As Usual' work like healthchecks, administrative tasks (documentation) and compliancy.
- Generate ideas to improve procedures and work methods and put these ideas into practice.

EXPERIENCE

- Strong communication skills.
- Languages: English (word and writing) and preferably Dutch.
-Ability to make clear agreements and live up to those agreements.
- Teamplayer. Ability to cooperate with the other members within the team as well as with other teams, clients and vendors in projects. A sense for organisation and politics.
- Create implementation documents and other technical documentation.
- Create clear workinstructions.
- Flexible. Ability to cope with changes in planning and priorities. Ability to work under (time) pressure. Quick learner (new environments).
- Willing to work outside office hours (weekends and nights) for projects and changes.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

- At least 5 years provable and recent experience on Mainframe as a Systems Programmer.
- Knowledge of USS or UNIX/Linux, SA/390, ISPF, TSO, REXX, JCL, Jython, RACF, SMS, TWS and Mainview
- Provable in depth knowledge and hand-on experience with WAS (for z/OS), preferable version 8 or 8.5.
- Knowledge and experience with the installation and maintenance of software from third party vendors (ACI)
- Knowledge of either MQ, DB2, IMS and JAVA is a plus. Knowledge of Scripting."

SPECIFIC

- Extensive knowledge of WebSphere Application Server for z/OS and related products"
- Install and maintain WAS and USS related products
- Support of day-to-day performance (infrastructure) tuning, backup & recovery on production & test-environments
- Knowledge and usage of Monitoring products as Mainview
- Knowledge of Parallel Sysplex and Coupling Facilities
- Basic skills for related products: z/OS, MQ, DB2
- ITIL
