Web UX Designer Job

WEB UX DESIGNER needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in New York City, NY.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- The Designer will work with multiple groups within the Television Stations group.
- The selected candidate will provide functional designs for online, digital consumer facing products, mobile product design development, with editorial content management, online video technologies, and social media technologies.
- The successful candidate is one who has worked in a news or publisher organization and is accustomed to a matrixed, fast-paced environment.
- The candidate will be tasked with contributing to multiple mobile project solutions running concurrently and working collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team.
- This includes the current mobile web sites, multiplatform apps, SMS messaging and niche apps, all of which are intended to help our audiences get the news and information they want, whenever and however they want it.
- The candidate will be adept at defining problems and designing elegant solutions that meet business and audience needs.
- Designer will be actively work with mobile development teams and will also have opportunities to contribute to other projects initiatives for desktop and mobile platforms focusing on translating tv visual content to the web.
- The successful candidate is expected to lead and participate in design discussions related to user experience and user interface. Maturity, judgment, influence and leadership skills are all essential.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Bachelor's degree in Web design-development or equivalent working experience
- Minimum five (5) years proven experience defining, developing, and documenting UX design and interaction requirements/specifications.
- Efficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, prototyping tools, and diagramming and web dev tools
- An ability to produce appropriate sketches, wireframes, navigation models, interfaces look and feel, illustrations, icons, diagrams, infographics in a iterative storytelling environment.
- A proven track record of modern web and app practices to create an efficient user- experience
- Deep knowledge of color, web/desktop typography, css3 and html5
- Excellent written, oral communication and presentation skills
- Proven experience simultaneously managing experience design projects of medium to moderate complexity
- Ability to adapt quickly and creatively to any situation
- Proven record of working under moderate supervision
- Able to demonstrate understanding of technologies that support product lines
- Able to articulate design solutions to development resources
