Web Development Engineer

Our client's Social Media Advertising team is seeking a talented Web Development Engineer to seed a new team focused on driving traffic through sites like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. The team will build and manage systems which enable large scale advertising targeting the unique ecosystem of Social Media. We'll build systems that enable rapid experimentation, massive data crunching and adaptive algorithms. Our team will drive the leading edge of innovation in the challenging world of display advertising in the context of the Social Media experience.

We are seeking an experienced Web Development Engineer to join our team to build an ad management portal and tools to create and manage large scale ad campaigns. The right candidate is expected have a strong drive for results, good interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment. S/He should be fully capable of translating business requirements into technical specifications and build high quality and maintainable web based tools using the latest UI technologies and design patterns. S/He is also expected to understand the underlying multi-tiered system and integrate the web based tools with databases, web services and other components.

As a founding member on a new team, the engineer will have a chance to have a ground-up impact on systems, overall business and most importantly, customers, as you take marketing programs to the next level. The candidate will apply his/her UI development skills, design and deploy new features to solve non-trivial optimization problems. This is a hands-on position where s/he will be asked to do everything from build rock-solid components to formulate strategy and evangelize technology, mentor other engineers and provide training and support for web components and applications.

Successful candidates must be innovative, flexible, self-directed, and be able to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional business and software development teams to solve critical business problems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Computer Science or related field, or 4+ year relevant work experience
- 4+ years professional experience in web development
- Knowledge of OO design and other UI design patterns like MVC
- Knowledge of at least, one modern OO programming language such Java, C#, C++
- Advanced JavaScript skills
- Proficiency in UI technologies, frameworks and libraries like jQuery, Spring MVC, Struts, CSS, HTML

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience with working with databases
- Familiarity with Scripting technologies such as Ruby, Perl or Shell Scripting as well as XML and HTTP protocols, distributed systems and asynchronous messaging technology a plus
