Web Designer/Developer

CAPITA INSURANCE SERVICES are looking to recruit an experience WEB DESIGNER/DEVELOPER for a 3 month contract based in Huddersfield.

CAPITA INSURANCE SERVICES design and package bespoke insurance products and web applications to the external market and our WEB DESIGNER/DEVELOPERS are responsible for the design and development of corporate brands within existing guidelines, the creation of HTML emails and debugging and fixing pre-existing CSS codebases.

The key responsibilities of our WEB DESIGNER/DEVELOPERS includes but is not limited to:

* Development of CSS styles to brand an existing web platform to closely match with a client's brand
* Producing web designs following Marketing's requirements whilst keeping within our brand framework
* Developing semantic mark-up to agreed web standards and within the Accessibility guidelines for best practice.
* Liaise with third party developers in implementing and using our brand/mark-up/styles
* Test web development in a range of browsers on a range of devices
* Ensure all development work is of a high quality, clearly laid out, easy to follow and is well documented
* Ensure deadlines are meet, adhere to project life cycles and identify/raise any issues which come up

To thrive in this role, the successful candidate must have demonstrable experience of the following:

- HTML 4 & 5
- CSS 1-3
- Extensive experience working with large CSS Codebases
- Creating HTML emails
- Adobe Photoshop

In addition, the right individual must have good written, verbal & presentation skills and excellent interpersonal, team skills. Our WEB DESIGNER/DEVELOPERS are solution oriented, self-motivated and flexible with excellent organisational and time management skills. The successful candidate must also have an astute attention to detail, able to follow and interpret standards, and be adept at multi-tasking and working to deadlines.

- JavaScript development, including use of jQuery library
- Responsive design/Device specific targeting
- Creation of web surveys
