Weapons System Engineer

Fantastic Opportunity for a Weapons System Engineer to work on Weapon Thread analysis with leading Defence organisation based near Frimley. Earning up to £48ph on this 12 month contract this professional will ideally have experience with test case and technical diagram creations.

The Individual

*Essential - Extensive knowledge & experience of systems engineering.
*Essential - Self-motivation, enthusiasm for problem solving and strong written & verbal communication skills.
*Essential - Thorough understanding of requirements management and acceptance.
*Essential - Knowledge of the techniques of Systems Engineering, Systems Engineering tools such as UML, Electronic Architecture.
*Essential - Extensive experience of complex system design and qualification.
*Essential - Extensive experience of defining technical requirements.
*Desirable - Experience of liaison with customers and suppliers.
*Desirable - Experience of Systems Engineering in a Naval Platform arena
*Desirable- Knowledge of network and high performance processing systems design.

Required to create and manage the Weapon Thread Enterprise Model:

*Management of the Weapons Thread Enterprise Model
*Analysis of the Weapon Thread behaviour and performance
*Contribute to identification and rapid closure of issues emerging from all product life cycle stages and manage the resulting change embodiment activities.
*Provide progress metrics, identify problem areas and implement agreed recovery plans.
*Undertake peer reviews or checking/verification tasks as directed.
*Articulate and present detailed technical argument clearly, logically and simply.
*Gain a clear understanding of and apply the Quality and Safety, Health & Environment Management System documentation (eg Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments) applicable to the particular work scope.
*Liaise with both internal and external customers as required ensuring that their requirements are adequately supported and that their needs are fully considered and incorporated where appropriate and agreed.
*Generation of technical requirements to enable procurement from sub-contractor suppliers.
*Liaison with CS Weapon Thread team, MoD customers and Suppliers to agree system design solutions, coherent with the Combat System Design.
*Preparation for & presentation at CS Design Reviews.
*Defining the functional capabilities of Weapons Thread
*Defining the Weapon Thread Use Cases (success and alternative cases)
*Establish associated requirements flow down and Information Exchange Requirements (IERs)
*Creating Weapon Thread interaction diagrams including performance constraints
*Produce mapping to Weapon Thread test cases
*Assist export of data to key deliverable documents
*Participate in technical workshops with customers and suppliers
*Participate in CS design reviews

Due to the nature of the role candidates will need to be security clearable, and provide evidence of this through gaining SC clearance to high level.
