Weapon Systems Engineer

Weapon Systems Engineer required to work within a team of engineers and be responsible for providing expert Systems Engineering input. The role requires strong Systems Engineering skills combined with good people skills and a 'can do' attitude to contribute to the Systems Engineering plan to deliver on time, on cost to support a demanding programme schedule.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Analysis of System level requirements.
Definition of system architecture, system behaviour and functionality using SySML.
Creation of Systems and Sub-system design documents, requirements and ICD's.
Configuration and change management of Systems Engineering artefacts.
Liaison with subcontractors during subsystem development including governance and design reviews/workshops.
System and Sub-system issues management and resolution including reporting.
Support change management process for sub-contract and main contract changes.
Provide information and metrics to the Team Lead to enable management reporting.
Become an expert within the Systems Engineer team on aspects of the system design and provide support across the wider team.
Participate in engineering meetings as required.

The successful candidate will have the below skills:
Proven technical experience in a range of Systems Engineering Tools (DOORS, MODAF, SysML using Rhapsody).
Demonstrable, significant, proven technical competence in system modelling of complex systems.
Demonstrable, significant, proven technical competence in architectural design and definition of complex systems.
Demonstrable, significant, proven experience in production of high quality design documentation and artefacts.
Proven technical experience in the application of systems engineering process in a defence design and development environment.
Proven ability to perform structured trade studies and decision making.
Proven, methodical, approach.
Pro-active approach to resolution of issues.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proven and well developed time management skills.
Understanding and practical experience of Armoured Fighting Vehicles and specifically weapons systems and turret integration complexities and safety.
Candidates must be willing to undergo a security vetting procedure.
