T23 COM WATERFRONT DELIVERY MANAGER

Summary:

The ultimate purpose of the role is to lead the waterfront through-life support to all Devonport-based T23 Classes of Surface Vessels.

This will involve the project management and planning the Through-Life Support delivered to the vessels, overseeing all aspects of support including the compilation of work packages, managing defect rectification, overseeing support periods (Fleet-Time and Upkeep periods) and to initiate contract action for engineering support tasks.

The successful candidate is expected to manage the T23 Class Output Team (T23 COM) consisting of a mix of RN/Company team of Platform Managers, Maintenance Engineers and Oversight Managers working with ships, as well as the Primary Customer in Devonport and Bristol Abbey Wood. There is also a requirement to liaise closely with the Portsmouth elements of the T23 COM.

Progressively, the T23 Waterfront Delivery Manager will motivate and inspire the team, whilst assisting in shaping the policy for Waterfront Support through analysis and review of the Through-Life Support requirements. This will clearly involve the ability to build relationships with the Primary Customer and suppliers.

The candidate will have 30-40 people to manage including Royal Navy Officers as well as the platform manager, so an understanding of military processes is essential. The candidate will have to monitor the material state of the T23 Warships as well as running the over sites, the upkeep and able to deliver budgets.

An Ideal Candidate;

- Engineering Degree (Any area)
- Good understanding of Through-Life Support processes (Naval/Maritime)
- Waterfront Support knowledge
- Project Management
- Defined Interpersonal skills
- Budgetary experience

Possible Background from the Royal Navy/maritime. MUST be eligible for Security Clearance and ITAR.

LOCATION: DEVONPORT DOCKYARD. TRAVEL TO OTHER SITES SUCH AS BRISTOL NO MORE THAN ONCE A MONTH.

DURATION: 6 MONTHS FIXED TERM CONTRACT, BUT THERE IS HIGH POTENTIAL TO GO PERMANENT.
