Vmware & SAN Support Engineer - EL1 - Non-Ongoing

A highly skilled VMware & SAN Support Engineer (combined position) is required for the VANguard & Infrastructure Branch, Service Operations Team. Candidates will be responsible for supporting secure complex environments providing whole-of-government online authentication services, in a 24X7 operational environment.

The hardware environment contains physical and virtual Servers, Storage Area Networks (SAN's), load balancers, Firewalls, Ethernet and Fibre Switches. Software includes Windows Server 2008, SQL 2008, VMware 5.1 enterprise suite, SCOM 2012 and SCCM 2007.

The work is varied and includes business as usual operational support and small project activities. Candidates will have a pro-active outlook and be dedicated to continuous improvement in existing practices, new technologies and opportunities.

THE ROLE

Under limited direction the VMware judgement; research and analysis; problem solving; and planning
- ITIL Foundation Certificate V3.
- Knowledge and experience with SCOM 2012 and VEEAM monitoring tools.
- Experience with Scripting languages like Windows PowerShell.
- Relevant industry experience, certification and qualifications in; VMware VCP5, IBM XIV, HP SAN technologies.
