Vmware Administrator

Yoh has an ongoing contract opportunity for a VMWARE ADMINISTRATOR to join our client in Norfolk, VA.

POSSESSION OF OR THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE IS REQUIRED AS A CONDITION FOR EMPLOYMENT.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Maintaining Dell and HP production Servers in a Windows Active Directory environment.
- Configuring RAID arrays, BIOS and network adaptors.
- Understanding of Internet protocols, UDP, SSH, RDP and utilities.
- Installing operating systems, software and IAVA patches.
- Troubleshooting and performing root cause analysis on outages.
- Coordinating with various server functional and application owners.
- Coordinating with Engineers and Project Managers.
- Manage projects and prioritize duties.
- Document processes and procedures.
- Manage and update existing documents.
- Able to follow development documentation and instructions.
- Must possess exceptional problem solving skills.
- Install and Configure VMWare ESX and ESXi Servers.
- Solid understanding of SAN and NetApp Storage.
- Solid understanding of storage multi-pathing and replication.
- Install and Configure Virtual Machine, virtual center Servers, VLANs, drives, and memory.
- Ability to configure DRS and HA.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- Working knowledge of VSC.
- Be thoroughly familiar with Hardware configurations, replacing hard drives, motherboards, DIMMs and risers.
- Must be eligible for a Top Secret Clearance.
- Need to have either the NET+ or SEC+ (SEC+ is preferred).
- Must be able to be OnCall every 12 weeks.
- Working with Windows 2003, 2008.
- Must have a strong knowledge and hands on experience with VMWare ESXi 4.1 or 5.0.

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/CERTIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION:

- Bachelors degree in Information Technology.
- CompTia server + certification.
- MCSE or MCSA.
- CompTia Network + or Security +.
- Virtual Certified Professional certification.
