Virtualization System Engineer
Our client in the Telco industry is currently looking for a Virtualization System Engineer to join their team in Mechelen
Job Responsibilities of the Virtualization System Engineer:
- Virtualization Support: Provides operational support, troubleshooting and monitoring for virtualization and shared compute infrastructure.
- Virtualization Maintenance: Performs routine configuration changes to support business functions and keeps equipment current with stable firmware and patches.
- Maintains virtualization integrity: Understands the interaction between business applications and the virtualization and shared compute infrastructure to provide optimum performance.
- Security: Plans and implements secure processes and systems for virtualization and shared compute infrastructure to maintain compliance with Information Security policies and audit controls.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE of the Virtualization System Engineer
- Experience with the Server Virtualization product VMware vSphere is required
- Experience in understanding of enterprise networking principles such as Load balancing, High Availability VoIP, etc.
- Experience with SAN/NAS implementation and support
- Experience with clustering, disaster recovery, implementation, troubleshooting and performance tuning is strongly preferred
- Experience with Data Center consolidation with virtualization
- Understanding of high availability design is preferred
- Understanding of 'Core Services' like but not limited to Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP, Systems Management, Data Backup & Security, etc.
- Virtual desktop experience preferred
- Strong troubleshooting experience on VMware ESXi 5.0, ESXi 5.5, ESXi 6.0 and Hyper-V 2008 & v2012 virtualization.
- Experience on V cloud director, VMware V-sphere and VMware V-center environment.
- Certification in the relevant technology is a plus.
- Relevant experience minimum 8 years.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES of the Virtualization System Engineer
- Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both orally and in writing
- Strong attention to details and the ability to multi-task effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to recognize, analyze and solve problems successfully
- Able to communicate in Dutch written & verbal. (Optional)
