Virtualization Engineer (Hyper-V)

DESCRIPTION:

- Virtualization using Hyper V is the primary requirement
- Work with the Development, Performance Testing and System Testing teams to setup and maintain a wide range of development and test environments.
- Utilize software skills to develop and maintain productivity tools related to automated builds, deployments and data collection of various development and test environments.
- Effectively collaborate with other technical resources in a multi-team environment
- Work with architecture team to test and validate various deployment configurations (particularly Hyper-V virtualized systems) and assist in maintaining related documentation.

SKILLS:

BASIC QUALIFICATION
Bachelors Degree (in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related degree)
5+ years of Systems/Software engineering experience

SKILLS

- Experience with deploying and tuning Virtualized Servers, particularly using Hyper-V.
- Knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for managing virtualized images a plus.
- Proficiency using Visual Studio 2010/2012 and a Source Control Solution like MS Team Foundation Server
- Windows, AD, SQL server, SCOM setup knowledge
- Experience in setting up Windows Server 2012 environments including Active Directory, DNS, Disk management, etc. Experience with Hewlett Packard ProLiant Blade Servers a plus.
- Experience setting up and managing Windows 2012 Servers in an Enterprise high availability solution preferably including knowledge of System Center Operations Management (SCOM), Network Load Balancing Manager, Distributed File System (DFS), etc.
- Good knowledge of TCP/IP Networking, including network configuration, Routers and networking traffic analysis a plus.
- Experience installing and configuring SQL Server 2008/2012 with knowledge of SQL Mirroring, SQL Always On and SSIS, a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, TFS and Test Manager a plus.
- Software development experience in the following areas preferred: PowerShell, MSBuild Scripts, Python, C#/.NET

MUST HAVE ONE OF THE FOLLOWING
In addition to the Computer Science and Computer/Software Engineering majors, the following degrees have been approved:

- BS or MS in Information Technology/Assurance
- BS or MS in Computer/Management Information Systems
- BS or MS in Wireless Engineering
- BS or MS in Network Engineering
- BS or MS in Systems Engineering
- MS in Telecommunications (not BS)
