VB.NET DEVELOPER (VISUAL STUDIO, TFS) - DIGITAL/FINANCE BUSINESS - BELGIUM

RATE: €525 PER DAY = £450 PER DAY

LENGTH: 12 MONTH CONTRACT

START DATE: OCTOBER

My client is very much in the Finance Sector and they are looking to get on-board a VB.NET Developer. The VB.NET developer will be working for the Tooling Services team. This team is part of the Application Development Division. It is their primary mission to define, implement and maintain tools supporting the software delivery life cycle.

The VB.NET Developer will assisting the distributed tooling team in the maintenance and the implementation of improvements on Microsoft Team Foundation Server 2015 to their development community.

RESPONSIBILITIES: VB.NET DEVELOPER (VISUAL STUDIO, TFS) - DIGITAL/FINANCE BUSINESS - BELGIUM

- Collaborate with development teams to collect their requirements regarding the evolution of the tools
- Upgrade and configure the product
- Improve and implement Build process (XAML and vNext)
- Improve the disaster recovery and monitoring process
- Improve the Security and privileges in line with Euroclear expectations
- Improve the reporting and analysis
- Improve the package management process (Nugets, Maven, Cran)
- Improve the source code control and versioning process
- Improve the quality policies
- Improve the process template
- Analysing .NET build failures
- Maintenance and improvement of the virtual builder infrastructure
- Share your expertise with colleagues in the Distributed Tooling Team

TECHNICAL SKILLS: VB.NET DEVELOPER (VISUAL STUDIO, TFS) - DIGITAL/FINANCE BUSINESS - BELGIUM

- MINIMUM 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN VB.NET
- MINIMUM 3 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE VISUAL STUDIO 2010 TO 2015
- MINIMUM 3 YEAR EXPERIENCE IN TEAM FOUNDATION SERVER (TFS) 2010 TO 2015
- You have an IT degree, computer science or related field (graduate Bachelor, Engineering or Master) or equivalent by experience
- You have a background in Microsoft oriented development with an in-depth knowledge of Visual Studio
- You have experience in setting up Microsoft Team Foundation Server for a large user-base
- You possess notions of windows server and architecture (clustering, load balancing)
- You have proven programming knowledge in VB.NET and C#

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

- Knowledge or experience with different Source control/revision systems is a plus (GIT, Clearcase)
- Knowledge or experience with Nuget, Maven or Gradle is a plus
- Basic knowledge of Unix commands and Perl programming are assets
- Past experiences in integrating a software product in the application development life cycle are an added value
- Experience working in SCRUM team is a plus
