UX/Visual Designer

Our client, a multinational engineering and electronics company, is are looking for a UX/Visual Designer to work on their internal Online Ordering Portal for all their IT products and services. UX Designer is a critical part of every feature from conception to launch, working constantly with project manager and product owners. UX designer designs and ideas will be an integral part of what makes a feature stick.

Reporting to the Consumer Experience Responsible, the UX designer will be part of a small team based in Poole. UX designer will help create a unique, intuitive and exhilarating user experience for the Ordering Portal and will deliver outstanding design work on all aspects of the solution.

Responsibilities

- Create layouts and design features for the companies IT ordering portal/website as well as other touch points including banners & landing pages.
- Take part in the creative/conceptual phase to create outstanding design and user experience.
- Work independently and collaboratively with different team members on projects as well as taking direction from senior members of the team.

Requirements

- 3 to 5 years of experience ideally In-House E-commerce
- We're looking for someone with sharp interaction design skills
- An impressive portfolio that showcases deep interaction and visual design skills
- Experience of creating compelling storytelling in an online environment
- Production of stunning, interactive experience visualisations as well as precise design documentation.
- The communication skills to clearly articulate your design ideas, and the persuasiveness, conviction and wisdom of experience that allow you to effectively evangelise those designs
- A team-first ethic: ability to see, and help the best ideas to win
- Proficiency with prototyping tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, Axure, Flash, HTML etc.
- Strong skills in typography, graphic design, grid systems and layout
- Ability to understand brand consistency, strictly follow branding guidelines and should have an excellent eye for detail.
- Experience designing user interfaces for websites and online shops
- Good familiarity with latest web technologies/techniques and comfort with HTML/CSS
- Ability to rapidly produce multiple design concepts
