User Interface Test Engineer

Our client's revolutionary reading device is one of the most innovative and fast growing businesses in the mobile market. The company has also developed significant digital and mobile businesses including MP3s, digital video, mobile apps, and audio. Many of these applications run on a range of mobile platforms including iPhone, Blackberry, Android, Windows Mobile and WebOS.

We are looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented Software Engineers in Test (SDETs) who are passionate about the customer experience and user interface testing. You will have an enormous opportunity to make a large impact on the design, architecture, and implementation of cutting edge products used every day, by people you know.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Develop, maintain, and execute test plans and test cases.
- Develop and maintain test automation scripts and tools.
- Participate in design and specification reviews, and use this information to design test plans and test automation.
- Ensure comprehensive test coverage by working closely with the product team to prioritize testing execution and report on test execution progress and results.
- Work closely with the engineering team.
- Promote QA productivity through automation, tools, and other best practices.
- Promote a culture of quality throughout the organization.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 4 years relevant work experience, or 6+ years relevant work experience
- Experience developing automation tests in Java, Perl, or other programming language
- Experience building and designing test cases
- Experience building test plans and prioritizing test cases for maximum coverage
- Experience with testing methodologies such as unit testing, Scrum/Agile, or waterfall

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Working knowledge of build and integration systems, especially as this applies to integrating test automation
- Experience developing and testing in a Linux/UNIX environment
- Working knowledge of web and networking protocols
- Experience with image and video quality testing
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs
- Demonstrated competence documenting product information and communicating it to others
- Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners
- Experience with GUI automation tools, Selenium preferred
