User Experience Designer

Next Ventures are currently hiring for 1 User Experience Designer to guide design and promote user advocacy working toward the creation of our next-gen tablet and mobile phone enterprise solutions. It's a contract position as part of a team of designers & developers.

Functional/Technical skills
Assist the design and creation of applications for mobile devices
Promote user advocacy during all part of program development, helping to set user design requirements, create system definition artifacts and refine the system throughout development.
Work with multiple members of the development team: program managers, researchers, visual designers to perform design activities and get support
Analyze customer research and competitor offerings to conceptualize and understand users
Create system and application concepts by defining information architecture, user interface flow, wireframes mockups and other design guidelines.
Communicate concepts through sketches, diagrams, and interactive prototypes and be able to adapt communication style to different audiences
Work across mobile platforms including iOS, Android, Windows Phone, and Blackberry
Review work of visual designers & software development team to implement correct design
Must be fluent (Spoken, written and read) in English and French

Mandatory requirements
Bachelors degree (masters preferred) in Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Information Design, or related field
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience
Solid understanding of data driven design activities, such as storyboarding and experience models, solid experience using these strategies to create high quality designs
Ability to meet aggressive deadlines, set accurate expectations and estimates for work tasks
Excellent organizational skills and demonstrated ability to work independently
Passion for technology innovation and dedicated interest in keeping up with the latest mobile technology trends
Proven ability to work closely with engineers and product managers throughout all stages of the product cycle.
Experience using Adobe Creative Suite, and OmniGraffle for creating design documents and prototypes
Demonstrated examples of previous design work, such as Portfolio or experience presentation
