Usability Researcher

USABILITY RESEARCHER REDMOND, WA 6 MONTH CONTRACT, EXTENSION POSSIBLE

Our high-visibility client is seeking a Usability Researcher to help shape the next version of user experiences through iterative user studies. The Usability Researcher will join an existing group of UX professionals (including designers and researchers) to ensure that key user centered metrics are collected, met and driven across the product life cycle.

JOB DUTIES

- Conduct usability tests on new product experiences with IT staff, admins and end users
- Perform heuristic evaluations on prototype samples and competitive solutions
- Develop issues lists and write usability test reports
- Partner with other user experience researchers to evangelize the resolution of findings
- Partner with designers to create solutions that resolve experience issues as well as drive future high value experiences
- Share results through brown-bag sessions with other UX team members and Product Management groups
- Partner with other user experience researchers to conduct early Front End research eg, surveys, cognitive walkthroughs, focus groups, site visits

REQUIREMENTS

- Master's degree in Psychology, Human Factors or related field preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Human Factors or related field with equivalent work experience in usability research and focus group moderation acceptable
- 3-5 years in conducting usability tests across various product lines, with demonstrated skill in collecting and analysing human behavioral data
- Proven ability to work within tight timelines and with excellent project management skills
- Excellent communication skills required
- Ability to conduct in-home/in-office site visits and develop user experience frameworks a bonus
- Previous experience as usability contractor preferred
- Must be able to work independently or as part of a team
