JOB SUMMARY
The Events and Membership Officer will be responsible for supporting the delivery of excellent communications and engagement activity to staff within the Trust. They will also support the recruitment, management and engagement Working to the Staff and Membership Communications Manager, this role requires a excellent communications professional to deliver staff and membership events, regular briefings and other effective communications activities - including Scripting content for newsletters, updates and blogs, to engage with the Trust's 3,500 staff.
The post holder will have a key role in organising and delivering communications initiatives arising from Listening into Action (LiA) - a revolutionary programme that is putting frontline staff in the driving seat to identify and deliver real improvements to services to benefit patients. this role would be responsible for supporting the delivery of measurable improvements in staff and membership engagement and involvement in the Trust
The position will involve occasionally working outside of normal office hours to attend members' and staff events, including the Trust Annual General Meeting (AGM).
EDUCATED TO DEGREE LEVEL
Professional PR qualifications, eg CAM, IPR
KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING
- Experience in design and print production within agreed deadlines, including managing external print/designers
- Good understanding of using a wide range of communications tools and channels with the ability to identify the right channel for any particular audience.
- Understanding of implications of providing information to a wide range of audiences, and applying that knowledge in the workplace
EXPERIENCE
- Staff communications experience in a large and complex public sector organisation;
- Proven experience of events organising
- Experience of producing publications from concept to delivery (including writing, design, layout and typesetting)
- Experience of staff communications
- Experience of membership communications
- Experience of social media, Twitter, Facebook and Yammer
- Experience of providing communications support for fundraising activities
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong written and verbal communication skills and a proven ability to identify the best approach when communicating complex issues to different
Available to attend the hospital at short notice to provide communications support
