Unix Support Analyst - with Middleware and Scripting - English Speakin

For a global bank based here in Zurich we are looking for a UNIX Support Analyst to join the team.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The primary role of the Support Analyst is to handle user queries and incidents as outlined in the IT Service Catalogue, and to resolve per documented procedures and in accordance with defined Service Level Agreements.

More experienced Support Analysts will have specialized Application/infrastructure knowledge and be able to perform minor changes (eg write scripts, read code, change batch jobs) in order to resolve more complex or unique problems and/or devise workarounds. In addition, they would be expected to set out the framework and standards in this discipline.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR CANDIDATE WITH:

- 3+ years UNIX at support level so Unix Scripting is required. We are not looking for a Systems Administrator
- Experience with Middleware
- SQL and database know-how is nice to have but not essential
- previous large company experience is a big advantage

SCOPE AND COMPLEXITY OF ROLE:

- Level 1 staff provide standard administrative, technical and/or professional support to a certain area. This can be either personal support to one manager or support for a certain area or location.
- They identify and report process improvements in their own work scope.
- They keep their own skills updated with new developments in their own field.
- Autonomy: Under supervision Level 1 staff complete tasks as required within their own objectives and in line with team goals.
- They work within clearly defined processes and may have sufficient leeway for their own input.
- Organizational impact: Level 1 staff establish good working relationships with colleagues in the organization to ensure support in achieving tasks.
