A Unix Operations Team Lead is required to work for this organically grown, top 10 UK website in a fantastic working environment. This company are very well known throughout the UK and most people would have used, or, will use their website at some point in their lives. This award winning organisation are outright market leaders in their particular field and you would have seen them regularly advertised on national television.

Your primary responsibility will be to manage a small team of Systems Administrators who currently maintain the Solaris and Linux operating environment. At first, you will be expected to be up to 30% hands-on and to contribute to all areas of responsibility of the Operations team. This role, however, is a team and environment management role. It would be a major advantage should you come from an organisation who're a major high-traffic website.

The Unix Operations Team Lead will be expected to perform the following:

- Provide leadership for the team responsible for the operational and design support for the current Solaris 10 and Linux operating environments.
- Be an expert in all areas of Unix platforms
- Be able to delegate tasks to a small team of friendly yet hard working and passionate individuals

The Unix Operations Team Lead will need to possess the following skills:

- Ideally be a Solaris 10 and a Linux RedHat Certified Senior Systems Administrator (Zones: ZFS, SMF, x86 etc . . )
- Experience leading a team of Unix Administrators across various platforms
- Must have strong shell and Perl scripting experience
- Netapp, Foundry, Juniper or F5 product experience
- Have strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Have completed a Computer Science related degree (2:1 minimum required)

The following skills/experiences would be beneficial:

- Any Java website experience

The Unix Operations Team Lead will be an expert and the 'go to person' when it comes to Unix environments. You will be a friendly, down to earth person together with a vast technical knowledge.
