Unix/Linux System Administrator wanted for our Zurich based client in the banking sector.
YOUR EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:
- 5+ years profound experience working in a large and complex web hosting environment, working with Apache web Servers, Tomcat and IBM WebSphere application Servers
- Expertise in UNIX & Linux
- Solid grip of infrastructure principles and system inter-dependencies outside the web hosting environment (eg networking, databases)
- Previous experience of working with cloud platforms, such as HP Stakato is beneficial.
- Self-motivated and excellent communicator along with strong interpersonal skills
- Languages: fluent English both written and spoken, German is an advantage.
YOUR TASKS:
- Providing 3rd level support for web and application Servers
- Installation and configuration of new infrastructure to support web applications as well as upgrades of existing infrastructure
- Supporting of tools for infrastructure builds and application installs
- Providing consultancy for application teams regarding the newer infrastructure
- Facilitating on-boarding of new services and technologies to evolve and improve the web hosting service
- Identifying opportunities to automate processes to help improve levels of service and/or remove manual tasks
