Unix (Linux, RHEL) Systems Administration - Yorkshire - £40k

Systems Administrator Unix/Linux Required -

My expanding software development client is currently looking for a senior Unix Administrator to work on site in their York office.

A brand new opportunity has arisen for a senior Systems Administrator with vast experience in a number of flavours of Unix, including (Linux, RHEL and HP-UX). The successful candidate will also have experience of support (2nd to 3rd line), maintenance, performance tuning and ideally some security within the Unix/Linux server environment.

In addition to this, any experience of virtualisation will be hugely advantageous.

As the Unix/Linux Systems Administrator you will work closely to ensure the reliability, security and performance of Unix systems serving both internal and external users.

The Key operating systems you will use are Linux, HP-UX, Centos, Redhat and/or Ubuntu.

Skills required for the Unix/Linux Systems Administrator:

~ Excellent working knowledge of Unix/Linux.
~ Good knowledge of Network storage/SAN
~ Solid understanding of networking and/or routing concepts.
~ Great experience working as an Administrator

The Following Skills are desirable:

~ Experience working with virtualization
~ An understanding of cloud computing
~ Knowledge of Centos and/or Redhat and/or Ubuntu
