Unix Engineer

UNIX ENGINEER - AMSTERDAM - €420/D MAX - 6 MONTHS INITIALLY

A Unix Engineer who has previous experience working in a Telco/Cable Operator Environment is required to work in Amsterdam on an initial 6 month contract starting ASAP.

THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST ARE

- To be responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance and repair of systems and software.
- Operational support.
- Proven to be able to work individually to deliver results

SPECIALIST SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

- Good knowledge of Solaris
- Experience across a range of Unix/Linux disciplines
- Previous work in a Telecommunications environment
- 2+years knowledge in (Solaris, RHEL, OEL)
- Good previous experience installing operating systems including Solaris, RHEL and OEL
- Good awareness of security, hardening and patching

NICE TO HAVE'S

- Awareness of Logical Volume disk management
- Flexible in working hours
- Preferably live in the Netherlands or be able to move there very quickly.
