Unix AIX/Weblogic Administrator Job

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a UNIX AIX/WEBLOGIC ADMINISTRATOR to support our client in St. Louis, MO.

JOB OVERVIEW:

This a 12 month contract position to start with multiple one year extensions possible.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Designs, develops, tests, implements, maintains, and supports moderately complex components of the systems infrastructure.
- Evaluates and integrates software and hardware requests.
- Monitors daily performance and utilization of service infrastructure; proactively provides suggestions for improvement.
- Performs root cause analysis of infrastructure problems; identifies solutions and makes recommendations; takes appropriate remedial steps towards resolution.
- Analyze the technology stack and make recommendations for equipment acquisitions, upgrades, and replacements; provides documentation necessary for input into process.
- Provides issue and problem resolution for moderately complex issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Performs disaster recovery exercises; partners with Disaster Recovery Team to define, implement, and maintain global disaster recovery plans.
- Provides troubleshooting for system component performance, configuration and infrastructure issues; facilitates resolution, as appropriate.
- Performs task automation and implements process improvements; recommends enhancements that result in increased quality and service.
- Design, implement and document performance testing infrastructure and architecture.
- Assist in solving performance and scaling problems identified during performance testing.
- This role will be focused on Middleware and OS technology.
- Maintains established service level agreements to manage customer expectations and quality standards; identifies opportunities for improvement.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

- MUST BE CURRENTLY ELIGIBLE TO WORK IN THE US FOR ANY EMPLOYER.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred and two to four (2 - 4) years of related experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of three years system engineering/administration experience in IBM/AIX.
- At least three (3) years' experience working with the basics of UNIX operating system theory, associated 3rd party software products, and hardware components.
- Able to understand AIX system performance measurements and analyze overall system performance.
- Understands system tuning parameters and able to analyze and modify memory, disk and network parameters.
- Proficient in ksh or Perl Scripting.
- Understands VIO architecture and is able to work with other teams to mange and resolve disk and network issues.
- Experience with WebLogic and/or Tomcat Application Server software.
- Experience with Dynatrace monitoring tool a plus.
- Knowledge of major database distributions, preferably Oracle is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analysis skills.
- Ability to work across teams.
- Intellectual curious, desire to learn new technologies and cross-train across the stack.
