JOB TITLE: UKMFTS SAFETY MANAGER

LOCATION: BRISTOL

RATE: UP TO £355 PER DAY

CONTRACT: 5 MONTHS (WITH POSSIBLE EXTENSION)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Report on assessment of process employed Report on achievement of Design Assurance Levels Report on acceptability of documentation.
- To support the Merlin Life Sustainment Programme (Mk 4/4a) Software/Firmware Safety Release to Service (RTS) by reviewing the process employed by the main contractor/designer and the supporting safety related software documentation.
- To determine the software, hardware and firmware compliance to the specified safety DAL (Design/Development Assurance levels).
- To provide expertise to assess whether the software safety requirements have been satisfied by the arguments and evidence presented within the totality of the programme Safety Assessment.
- The software safety documentation should be assessed in conjunction with the following documents/processes: evidence:
- System Safety Strategy
- Applicable standards and guidelines
- System Safety Program Plan (SSPP)
- Plan for Hardware Aspects of Certification (PHAC)
- Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC)
- Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA)
- Preliminary System Safety Assessment (PSSA)
- To provide clear and unambiguous advice the project safety manager on the acceptability of the safety related software documentation provided by the designer/contractor in a timely manner to support key milestones.

To Support the Merlin Capability Sustainment Programme (Mk2) Safety aspects by reviewing software related documentation delivered by the main contractors. - To assess and report on the extent that the software safety requirements have been satisfied by the arguments and evidence provided on the following systems: AMMC - Aircraft Mission Management Computer & TSU - Touch Screen Unit.

ESSENTIAL:

- Software assurance of D0254 & D0178.

DESIRABLES:

- Airborne software application/Aviation experience

NOTE: Travel between MoD Abbey Wood and the following: Lockheed Martin - Havant, Hampshire Agusta Westland and Yeovil, Somerset
