GTN Technical Staffing is looking for a UI/UX Designer & Developer for a 6+ month contract. The UI/UX Designer will be passionate about design. This is a fast-paced, collaborative project where the team will be relying on your judgment, expertise and creativity to deliver the best possible user interface and user experience. The UI/UX Designer will be a creative, lateral thinker who can identify issues, articulate solutions, and deliver pixel-perfect designs using standard design tools such as Adobe Photoshop. The UI/UX Designer's solutions will place value on the development of reusable assets and design patterns

In addition to being able to deliver prototypes using sketching, white boarding, wire framing, the UI/UX Designer will be able to hand-code HTML and CSS and be comfortable working with JavaScript and jQuery. The UI/UX Designer will work with internal Business Analysts and Developers as well as offshore development teams.

The UI/UX Designer & Developer role is 70% design and 30% development. The UX team member will collaborate with various business units to understand their specific application design needs. The UI/UX Designer & Developer will create and present low resolution wireframes to high resolution Photoshop mockups for approval, then develop that UI in collaboration with the development team by generating standards-compliant HTML/CSS. There will be periods of mostly design work, and periods of mostly development work.

The focus is around translating complex business requirements into highly usable web applications that our client both designs and develops.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Able to share an online portfolio of your work

3+ years proven experience in:

- User Interface design, usability and user experience
- Proficient knowledge of Adobe CS and/or Visual Studio 2010
- Handcoding experience with HTML and CSS
- Hand-coding experience with JavaScript and jQuery

Additional assets:

- Working knowledge and/or hands on experience with ASP.NET/C#
- Working knowledge of Sass and Compass
- Working knowledge of the Sencha Touch framework for mobile development
- Ability to develop Object Oriented JavaScript
- Ability to hand-code XAML for Silverlight
- An understanding of the principles of information architecture, navigation design, interaction design
- Experience with HTML5 (be prepared to show examples of your work that clearly demonstrate your abilities)
- Be prepared to demonstrate your ability to write code without an IntelliSense editor such as those found in popular web development programs.
