UI and Database Developer

A large and growing high frequency proprietary trading firm here in Manhattan is looking for a talented developer to join its core technology team! Responsibilities: -Design, develop, and maintain key performance metrics, dashboards and reports providing actionable business intelligence related to the firm's trading engines and strategies -Scale our DB infrastructure architecture and improve performance to support our rapidly-growing data set -Develop rich/fast UI web applications -Lead the way in reducing complexity at the most fundamental layers of our technology stack -Architect data storage solutions to support new product initiatives Requirements: -BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent -3+ years C++ experience -At least 1 year of professional experience focusing on back-end web development and database administration -Proven success in a large-scale, high-throughput environment - preferably a rich UI consumer-facing website Working experience with HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and general Web 2.0 techniques using 3rd party frameworks -Deep knowledge of MySQL, InnoDB, and Linux (excellent SQL and performance tuning skills, familiarity with other relational databases, as well as PostgreSQL, Berkeley DB, NoSQL solutions a plus) -Working knowledge of at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl) Please apply if interested!
