Our Client based in North East of England is looking to appoint a Trust Grade ST1/2 Level Orthopaedic doctor for a fixed term of 12 months.
The Trust is provides a combination of services, which is split between the two hospital sites. The Orthopaedic wards comprise of 70 beds. The Central Operating Departments comprise eleven theatres with three Ultra Clean Air Theatres on both sites. The Orthopaedic Outpatient Departments are both self-contained units supporting only Orthopaedic Services. The Orthopaedic service is supported by a comprehensive Rehabilitation Service, including Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
The work within the department will be carried out under the supervision of the Registrar, Associate Specialist and Consultant Medical Staff and will include the documentation and day to day care of patients, attendance at ward rounds and out-patient clinics, covering A & E when required and assisting or working in the operating theatre. The post holder will be required to provide on call and emergency cover. He/she will also be available for other duties as required.
Every opportunity will be provided to the appointee to develop special interests and skills in aspects of medical care, information technology, medical audit, etc. The post holder will maintain his/her own continuing professional development in line with current guidelines on professional responsibilities.
To be considered for the post must have full GMC registration and experience of working in Orthopaedics at F2 level or equivalent. Wide clinical experience is also essential. Postgraduate qualifications within the specialty are desirable.
