Transmission Design Engineer - 6-12 Month Contract - East Midlands

Based in the East, our client, a leading manufacture of specialist transmission and gearboxes requires an Engineer to join a small niche sector of the business. The successful Transmission design engineer will support the need to increaseur responsiveness to OEM customers, accelerate cost reduction plans and develop solutions to resolve current product design issues.

Responsibilities:
This role will have the responsibility for the development, integration and validation of design changes supporting current production transmissions. Ensuring, timely, response to resolve field issues and address manufacturing concerns.
This will involve developing concepts to meet critical customer requirements, effective CPPD with various suppliers to ensure an optimised design is developed.
The role will include release and implementation of drawings through the appropriate Engineering release systems.
Pro/Engineer experience required with 3 years of drive train or driveline systems design experience.

Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering Qualification, Degree Preffered.
Transmission Design Experience
Experience of driveline development, design, installation & validation.
Excellent Pro-E skills.
In depth knowledge engineering to release processes.
Certified 6 Sigma Green Belt, desirable.

The contracts are initially 6-12 months but are likely to be extended depending upon performance and scope of work available.
The offered rate is competitive but completely Dependent on level of experience.
