Transition and Migration Specialist - June 2013 Contract

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IT Transition and Migration Specialist role, as a key member of the Data Centre Relocation Project team, is responsible for developing and implementing the migration strategy, migration testing and test plans, transition planning, operational readiness of supporting teams, service management documentation, implementation, documentation, maintenance, support, monitoring and enhancement of IT infrastructure.

SKILLS:

- Demonstrated experience in the design and deployment of data centres, in particular deployment of application environments into those data centres;
- Demonstrated understanding of, and enterprise experience in the implementation and support of: Microsoft Windows Server; Virtualisation technologies; Microsoft Active Directory; Enterprise security solutions Certificate Authority solutions; Citrix XenApp implementations; and Server infrastructure hardware;
- Extensive experience in data centre migration including development of project plans, data centre readiness activities, preparation and testing, development of test plans;
- Extensive understanding of standard ITIL process including the ability to create, migrate, document and establish new processes required for operation of the new data centre environments;
- Extensive knowledge of standard change management processes including the ability to drive the essential change process to enable the migration as well as lead the effort to establish new and effective process reflecting the new environments;
- Experience in leading, developing and documenting daily checkbooks, runbooks, operational processes and practices for the operation of a Data Centre Infrastructure environment(s) including Application Platforms, Compute, Storage, Virtualization;
- Experience in leading qualified technical resources in a Matrix managed organisation; and
- Experience in leading and developing the organizational capability of a tiered support organization. Ensure that the organization is trained and ready to support the new data entre application, infrastructure and supporting environments at the completion of environment transition.
