Projektbeschreibung

I am looking for a support manager for one of my top clients, a major financial firm, in downtown Chicago. This person should be relatively experienced manager that has spent at least five years managing people in a trading or banking environment.

The trade support manager will be responsible for leading support associates in delivering a quality level of technical support to the trading desk.

This person is expected to effectively develop expertise both personally and amongst their support staff. An effective lead commonly exhibits these behaviours:

* The ability to rationalize the impact of multiple concurrent issues/requests/projects and distribute work accordingly their staff members
* An independent sense of motivation to continuously improve themselves, their environment, and the value their teams add to the organization
* An intuitive problem solving ability which leads to solution alternatives that reflect the lead's diverse foundation of knowledge, skills and experiences
* The confidence, focus, and adaptable communication style required to effectively coordinate the resolution of high-impact technology incidents

Technical skills:

* Solaris, Linux, Windows
* Unix Shell, Perl, Python scripting
* SQL (Intermediate level: multi-table joins, grouping results)
* Infrastructure (network, server, storage, messaging)

Business Background

* Product knowledge - Foreign Exchange (FX), Fixed Income, Futures, Currencies, Commodities, Credit, Mortgage-backed Securities, Interest Rate Derivatives
* E-trading and exchange connectivity

Role Responsibilities:

* Driving the restoral effort for all major technology incidents affecting their area of responsibility and driving actions to minimize the risk of future occurrence
* Building successful relationships with senior business partners, and taking full responsibility for the quality of service provided by their team to the desk
* Effective communication to other support managers, development and infrastructure groups
* Reviewing support metrics, identifying risk mitigation and effort reduction opportunities, and delivering those via a regimented problem management programme
