Trade Finance Officer

Our client, a large Bluechip Corporate Bank, is looking to hire two Trade Finance Officers to join their London Head Office. The bank is undertaking several major projects over the next 24 months and they need two contractors to cover other members across these projects as required.

The Trade Finance department is responsible for the administration of all aspects of the trade finance products offered to their corporate customers. 

The successful candidate will need good knowledge of trade finance from a banking environment, covering all areas including Letter of Credit, Guarantees and Collections. 

Key Responsibilities:

- Processing of all aspects of Import and Export Documentary Letters of Credit including issuance, advising/confirmation, 1st/2nd checking of documents, acceptances/deferred payments, discounts, payments and refinance.
- Issuance and amendment of Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit including the creation, assessment and negotiation of transaction texts and other related administrative tasks (such as fee collection, cancellation, claims etc.).
- Processing of import and export Documentary Collections including issuance/presentation, acceptances, payments and refinance.
- Administration of trade related loans including drawdowns, rollovers and repayments.

KEY SKILLS REQUIRED

- Detailed knowledge of UCP, ISBP, URR, URC and ISP
- Working knowledge of SWIFT 1XX, 2XX, 4XX & 7XX series messages.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Good organisation skills

OTHER BENEFICIAL SKILLS

- Experience of BankTrade trade finance system
- Good understanding of bank facility documentation and other legal documentation
- Facility and transaction management of any structured trade finance arrangements.
- Fluency in any foreign languages.
