TRACEABILITY ASSURANCE LEAD - GLOBAL BANKING AND MARKETS - HSBC

GBM operates in an increasingly complex and dynamic regulatory environment, with greater regulatory scrutiny of compliance with existing and future planned regulatory initiatives. The ability to demonstrate compliance is imperative, and dependent on the ability of GBM to evidence how implemented systems, governance frameworks and underlying processes address regulatory demands.

The Traceability Assurance Lead will be responsible for ensuring that GBM Regulatory Transformation Programmes undertake activities which demonstrate traceability from regulatory demands, through to programme requirements and delivery activities. These traceability activities are the responsibility of the programmes; the Assurance Lead will manage and undertake periodic, risk based reviews of programme activities to ensure that programmes meet portfolio minimum standards.

Additionally the Traceability Assurance Lead will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance, development and communication of Traceability Standards, ensuring traceability activities are mobilized within new programmes, and reporting on traceability status, risks and issues to Portfolio Management.

The Lead will be responsible for managing a team of one or more Traceability Analysts who will support the execution of the above activities. They will liaise with the Portfolio Management Function (PMF) who will track the reported traceability status of programmes on a BAU basis.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Definition and maintenance of traceability standards, guidance (building on existing material)
- Ensure new programmes have the support to effectively mobilise their traceability function
- Lead traceability assurance reviews of programmes and track issues to resolution by the programmes
- Conduct training of programme resources in how to maintain traceability effectively
- Report to portfolio steering committee on outstanding traceability items and plan for tracking them to resolution

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- Excellent understanding of global change delivery and programme life cycle, including assurance and traceability
- Solid experience within a global banking markets environment. FX, Fixed Income, Equities experience a plus
- Previous regulatory assurance and traceability experience
- Proven ability of leading functions with similar scope, including evolving regulatory agenda in a challenging and dynamic environment
- Good communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills
- Confirmed ability to work with senior stakeholders and business sponsors
- Strong people management and leadership experience
- Lateral thinker with the ability to interpret and solve complex regulatory issues
- Strong analytical and Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel)
