CONTRACT TINSMITH JOB SUMMARY:
Our client in the Aerospace industry is looking for a number of Tinsmith to work a long term contract in the Bristol area. You must have a recognised Apprenticeship or the equivalent NVQ standard to be considered for this role. The day to day role of the Tinsmith will require you to use hand, electrical and pneumatic tools to form, shape and assemble sheet metal. Also as a Tinsmith you will be using jigs to fit and assemble parts, to build bleed air and anti-ice ducts for various parts of aircraft, NACA ducts, track cans and general aluminium components.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE TINSMITH:

The Tinsmith will ensure parts are produced on a right first time basis.
As a contract Tinsmith you will make sure that any calibrated equipment used is within date.
All Tinsmiths will be responsible for the timely clearance of work phases using the SAP system.
Tinsmiths must be responsible for highlighting any non-conformance to the Process TeamLeader
All contract tinsmiths will adhering to the requirements of our clients Quality Procedures.
Tinsmith must be accountable for Health & Safety requirements under Section 7 of the HASAWA 1974.
All Tinsmiths onsite must hold first party inspection approval (M02 status is subject to obtaining A stamp approval)
Each Tinsmith must be responsible for general housekeeping within the area

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

All Tinsmiths must have a recognised indentured Apprenticeship or the equivalent NVQ standard. Previous manufacturing experience in a factory environment would be desirable.

Ability to understand aircraft drawings/limits, be able to form/shape titanium, stainless steel and aluminium and to work to standard operating procedures
Must be able to work in small teams with Process Team Leaders
Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and techniques to support our clients continuous improvement initiatives
Self-motivated team player with good communication skills
