Tier II Technical Support/Engineer

Yoh has a contract opportunity for a TIER II TECH SUPPORT/ENGINEER to join our client in Ashburn, VA.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Engineer, Tier 2 Tech Support is responsible for Tier 2 network and application technical support. This role includes detailed analysis and trouble-shooting each sector of the DDC solution as well as meeting other technical and network support needs.
- The Engineer, Tier 2 Tech Support will also provide diagnosis, triage and possible resolution of technical issues/problems when Tier 1 cannot determine the root cause of the issue. This position will work to proactively ensure that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are being met.
- The Engineer will run structured tests and ensure successful integration between the DDC and external 3rd party system providers. In order to accomplish the above tasks, the Technical Analyst will interact primarily with Customer Care, QC, Service Assurance, Customers and third party service providers.
- This position reports to the Operations Group Manager. Review and analyze technical requirements and solution documents. Develop solution testing and analysis.
- Diagnose and resolve technically complex issues that are beyond the scope of Tier 1 support.
- Provide Tier 2 support of Customer Care and Service Assurance Operations. Partner with internal DDC teams to identify solution and technical requirements to create a comprehensive DDC test suite.
- Work with 3rd party application providers to trouble shoot issues and develop enhanced capabilities.
- Interact with various groups and stakeholders to determine appropriate resolution strategies. Validate and verify applications in an integrated end-to-end environment.
- Create, execute, and report on test scripts/cases. Coordinate integration and analysis activities among test team members and stakeholders in other functional groups.
- Resolve technical issues to ensure timely execution and quality completion of all integration and test activities.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Five to seven (5-7) years digital/broadcast media industry experience
- Five to seven (5-7) years' experience working with digital/broadcast media technology
- DEEP STRUCTURED ANALYSIS AND TROUBLESHOOTING SKILLS, PROBLEM SOLVING AND ANALYTICAL SKILLS. EXPERTISE WITH VIDEO, AUDIO, METADATA APPLICATIONS, APPLICATION ARCHITECTURE, INFRASTRUCTURE AND NETWORK SUPPORT.
- Ability to analyze network packet logs isolates, identify and report issues.
- Extensive experience with Embedded systems.
- Knowledge of IT Networking, Video based codec's (ie H.264 and Pro Res), video formats (ie MPEG2/MPEG 4, DNX and IMX) and audio codec's/formats (ie AAC and MP3).
- IN DEPTH UNDERSTANDING OF TCP/IP NETWORK PROTOCOLS.
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
- DEEP UNDERSTANDING OF XML SCHEMAS.
- Knowledge of AAF and MXF formats for digital media.
- WORKED WITH FILE TRANSCODING ENGINES SUCH AS RHOZET, TELESTREAM AND ANYSTREAM.
- Knowledge of VOD, DTO file formats and distribution profiles.
- Knowledge of automated QC tools such as Cerify and Manzanita.
- Ability to estimate problem resolution times, either independently or in collaboration with other team members.
- Knowledge of SMPTE protocols for digital workflows and SCTE standards.
- Detail-oriented and capable of multi-tasking, self-directed; with proven ability to prioritize tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to offer multiple solutions to technical and operational

problems and challenges.
- Fluent in all basic MS Windows Office components (Word, Excel, Outlook, IE).

PREFERRED JOB SKILLS/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
- Advanced knowledge of these applications and experience of Access and Project is desirable.
