CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY, WORKING WITH A SERVICE PROVIDER AS PART OF A MANAGED SERVICE PROJECT

4 ON 4 OFF SHIFT PATTERN (12 HRS)

BASED IN BERKSHIRE

INITIAL 3 MONTH CONTRACT

Our Client offers customers one single consolidated provider for all their IT and communications needs. Through this client customers can optimise their voice and data networks and prepare to face new challenges.

The Venue Support engineer is responsible for supporting WAN, LAN, and Wireless LAN network infrastructure for our customer base. The primary focus is on retail clients with WiFi services in their venues (for example high street stores and restaurants).

The Venue Support engineer will work in conjunction with the This Client Service Desk and NOC, along with technical representatives from the WiFi team. Regular interface with 3rd party circuit providers and field service organisation is also a day to day requirement for support operations.

Due to servicing retail clients, it is necessary to support weekend trading period. As such, there is a day shift pattern of 4 days on followed by 4 days off to ensure Saturdays and Sundays are covered on a rotational basis. The day shifts are 07:00 - 19:00 and the role is undertaken from the Network Management Centre in Slough, Berkshire.

THE ROLE HOLDER MUST BE AT LEAST TO A CISCO CCNA/CCNP LEVEL OF QUALIFICATION AND WITH 2 TO 3 YEARS' EXPERIENCE WORKING WITHIN SERVICE PROVIDER ENVIRONMENTS. A key focus is the support of broadband connectivity and maintaining functional wireless networks.

All managed services are delivered against ITIL and ISO 20000 best practices.

THE TIER 3 VENUE SUPPORT ENGINEER ROLE REQUIRES THE FOLLOWING SKILLS:

- Supporting WAN circuits including ADSL, FTTC , EFM, 3G/4G, and Ethernet.
- Firewalls (Fortinet) loadbalancers (F5)
- Supporting Broadband core infrastructure including use of RADIUS, BRAS, and LNS.
- Cisco 800, 1900, 2900, and 3900 series routers.
- VPN services including, IPSEC, SSL, L2TP (including v3) and GRE.
- Dynamic routing protocols including BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
- Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Cisco Access Points.
- Cisco 2960 and 3850 series switches.
- VLANs and Spanning Tree.
- Use of SNMP network management tools and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.
- Working knowledge of Linux and syslog is desirable.

EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITY REQUIRED:

- Experience of working in a managed services environments.
- Sound diagnostic capabilities and complex fault resolution.
- Able to work under pressure to achieve tight SLA deadlines.
- Capable to provide remote support with assistance from field service engineers.
- Experience with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change management.
- Good working knowledge of ICT managed services and ability to deal with evolving targets.
- Well organised and structured approach to work requirements.
- Ability to write technical documentation and to coach junior team members.
- Excellent verbal and written communications in English.
