Test Manager

For our customer we are looking for a Test manager.

Given a common platform and set of applications, the Country Rollout Team is responsible to successfully implement rollout of the common platform to a specific country. Countries will have existing Legacy systems which require integration to the common platform, and subsequent quality assurance. The common platform will be translated, branded, and in some cases localized, to handle unique data requirements to/from the local Legacy systems. The Test Manager is responsible to ensure that all projects and releases are tested to de-risk new applications and ensure successful rollout in the target country.
Integration from common platform to local Legacy systems, including integration test coordination across the platform, using technical and Legacy system experts.
End to End User Acceptance test by coordination of business users from the local business units.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure successful outcome of all testing so that it is completed effectively and meets project schedules, and give clear input to Go/NoGo decisions at agreed points
- Ensure all testing-related activities and teams are aligned in their goals and working effectively together.
- The Country Test Manager will coach and mentor Business Managers and Project Managers in the end to end User acceptance testing processes in line with the BSS Program Quality Management Framework.
- The Country Test Manager will manage and support internal and 3rd party Legacy software providers in the planning and execution of unit and component testing and Legacy integration testing.
- Ensure that reporting to the country rollout project manager on progress, risks and issues is transparent and meets the needs of the stakeholders; also that communication on these areas between everyone involved in testing is effective

ACTIVITIES
- Day to day management of the test analyst team, supporting systems and key vendors.
- Establishing a test strategy and framework along with test plans for country rollout.
- Recruiting and building up the test teams. Management of test teams onshore and offshore.
- Defect and test environment management. Defining and building local test environments needed to support Legacy integrations, vendor system testing, and business end to end acceptance test. 
- Management of multiple test environments running concurrently, ensuring they are up to date.
- Hands-on testing involvement if/as required.
- Writing and carrying out test cases, scripts and similar tasks
- Work with the Change and Release Managers to schedule production releases. 
- Ensure live deployments and resulting services meet business expectations through appropriate test cycles, script creation and business analysis.
- Review existing processes and controls and participate in BSS Program continuous improvement process.

CHARACTERISTICS:
- Hands-on testing experience functional/technical/Scripting
- Test Management experience
- Team Leading/People Management experience
- Strong management, planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills required as needs to be able to convey information across various levels including senior management
- A strong track record of achievement promoting and developing people in an operational environment

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- 5+ years of functional and technical testing experience
- 2+ years professional test management experience.
- Experience of User Acceptance Testing (UAT), Legacy integration testing, and regression testing
- 10+ years professional IT experience.
- Experience using HP Quality Centre/Quality Center, and Jira
- Minimum 3+ year University Degree
- Experience of release management desired
- ISEB Qualified Desired
- ITIL process knowledge Desired
