Test Lead - Siebel/COTS, Quality Centre

One of Canberra's most established and high profile government departments is looking to appoint an experienced TEST LEAD to become an integral member of a multi disciplinary team in a rapidly changing project environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following tasks:

- lead a small team of four to five staff;
- engage with the Business/Systems Analysts/Designers to conceptualise new functional designs;
- define and document test plans and test cases;
- ensure test environments and test data are prepared;
- undertake system testing;
- document incidents/issues which arise during test execution;
- monitor incidents through their life cycle and retesting solutions;
- design and record automated test scripts, where appropriate;
- execute automated regression tests and follow up on outcomes;
- liaise with Business/Systems Analyst/Designers and business subject matter experts to clarify intended system behaviour and supporting business processes;
- peer review other testers' deliverables; and
- transfer skills and knowledge to departmental officers.

Experience/skills required: 

- At least five years of testing experience, with at least two years in a Test Lead role 
- In-depth knowledge of testing principles, activities and processes
- Ability to lead a team of testers in the preparation and execution of testing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to professionally communicate at management levels
- Siebel (or similar enterprise COTS) applications experience (desirable)
- Quality Centre experience (desirable)

On offer to the successful applicant will be an 8 month contract (with possibilities to extend) and a rewarding salary package which is negotiable depending on skills and experience.
