Test Engineer

The Software Change Management organization is responsible for testing of official build releases of Embedded software on Android based smartphones and tablets. Key to the organization's role is the development of web and database solutions related to release metrics and efficiency. This position will provide opportunity for development of a growing test execution role which will communicate across various tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

- Perform manual validation on issues identified by automated test tools
- Troubleshoot and root cause issues found by the test-boxes
- Prepare and maintain test-boxes in a trouble free state
- Ability to develop and adjust automation test scripts accordingly
- Ability to adapt different test roles through the testing process (plan, test, execution, analysis, etc)
- Collaborate reports to management
- Participate in Android App development, test and support for maintenance

SKILLS:

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated, strong proficiency in software testing. Must have at least a Bachelor's degree and 2+ years experience in software engineering. Android Development/Test experience is preferred.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

- Knowledge of Version Control, Defect Tracking, and Build tools
- Experience with Hudson build machines
- Experience in Unix/Linux commands
- Experience in Test Repository/Management tool such as TestCentral
- Experience with JIRA, git, Gerrit not required but desired.
- Knowledge in Android App Development, Android API, and framework
- Experience in Java, Javascript, CSS, HTML, XML
- Knowledge on REST web services, JSON, HTTP protocol
- Experience with UI Automator
