Test Coordinator

We seek a talented individual to lead the System Integrated Test (SIT) phase of a new Project and to also lead the business clients in the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) phase of the Project. The system will include two instances of the NMS and Focal Point systems along with all related interfaces and partner systems.

THE SCOPE OF THE SERVICES WILL INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:
(1) Design and development of test plans and strategy.
(2) Test case preparation and test data preparation.
(3) Development of reusable test scripts.
(4) Testing coordination.
(5) Test case execution and test results analysis.
(6) Reporting on testing metrics, trend analysis and performance test results.
(7) Defect reporting and retesting on resolution.
(8) Facilitate review and sign-off of testing artifacts.
(9) Perform other testing duties as assigned.

The person selected for this position will be responsible for leading a team of 15-20 testers and will be responsible for working with the Test Manager to help lead the test team during all phases of testing. Candidate must be willing to travel to multiple locations throughout the region and also be able to work effectively with developers, testers, clients and other management personnel across geographies.

SKILLS:

THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED:
(1) Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Business or closely related disciplines.
(2) Minimum 8-10 years of experience in an IT related environment.
(3) Minimum 5 years of experience in testing or related discipline.
(4) Proven track record in leading large scale testing efforts.
(5) Comprehensive knowledge of testing methodologies and software development life cycle.
(6) Extensive experience in HP Quality Center.

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
(1) Certification in Software Testing.
(2) Electric Utility industry experience.

EXPERIENCE WITH THE FOLLOWING IS A PLUS:
(1) NMS, Focal Point, CIS, GIS, IVR, MOS, Clearion and AVL.
(2) Citrix.
(3) Web services testing.
(4) SQL. Name of Project: Enterprise Outage Management System (OMS) Project.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

- Qualified candidate is expected to have extensive experience in leading large testing efforts involving Real Time systems, COTS applications, custom applications and interfaces.
- Expertise is required in test planning, testing coordination, test case development/execution, test case tracking (metrics) and reporting.
- Candidate is expected to have strong analytical and problem solving skills. Experience working in various software development life cycles models (example: agile, waterfall, etc.) is required.
- Experience in Real Time operations systems in the Electric Utility industry is desired; such as NMS, Focal Point, CIS, GIS, IVR, MOS, Damage Assessment (Clearion), and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) systems.
- Experience with distributed technologies, relational databases and knowledge of infrastructure technology (Servers, workstations, IT security, etc.) is desired.
- Candidate should be outgoing and enjoy working on a team. Individual in this position must demonstrate strong communication skills, including written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- In addition to exceptional organizational and analytical skills, the successful candidate must demonstrate strong customer focus, team skills and project management skills.
- Experience in distributed technologies along with proprietary databases is helpful. A proven track record of producing quality results within stringent timelines is required.
