TERADATA DBA
An experienced Teradata DBA is required for an initial 3 month contract with a large Swiss company. There is scope for extension of up to 9 months on this contract.
Main tasks:
- Technical expert for large Teradata systems; ensuring a smooth and efficient operation together with the BI service owner in consultation with developers and end users
- Installation, Administration and optimization of Teradata databases according to the needs of BI and BI Delivery service areas.
- Advice/tuning of complex database queries from developers and end users
- Incident management along with the service owner, the SW manufacturers, IT providers and users
- Propose, evaluate and implement to ensure the overall performance/efficiency of the database systems have sustainable life cycle measures
Necessary skills:
- Teradata Administration (V13 or higher)
- SQL to advanced level
- Query Tuning/advice to final customers
- Linux Administration (Suse or Redhat)
- Practical work in larger BI projects
- English written and spoken
Beneficial skills:
- Teradata development (BTEQ, Parallel Transporter)
- German language skills
