Telecommunications Engineer Job

TELECOMMUNICATIONS ENGINEER needed for a contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Greenwood Village, CO.

THE BIG PICTURE - TOP SKILLS YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

- Telecommunications experience
- Strong call routing and SIP experience

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Designs, develops, implements, maintains, and enhances telecommunication networks, systems, and equipment.
- Analyze existing networks and equipment and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Responsible for contacting PSAPs (Public Service Answering Points) to test and certify emergency services solution.
- Develop solutions that meet business requirements.
- Manages work orders using the MetaSolv system, validating work orders, network routing changes, certification testing, and completing required tasks as defined in the work orders.
- Ensures accurate documentation of testing performed and updates the results into permanent record databases.
- Reviews workflow assignments without errors and within allotted timeframe.
- Evaluates required tasks relating to the 911 network discovery.
- Using MetaSolv, inserts accurate work status information, creates notes for tracking issues, and updates stakeholders.
- Works with external agency testers (Intrado, LEC, etc.) to migrate traffic to new emergency services solution.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Requires basic understanding of telephony and E911 call flows.
- Generally requires two to five (2 - 5) years of related experience.
- May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and at least six (6) years of experience in the field or in a related area.
