Technical Writer (Software Development) Job

TECHNICAL WRITER (SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT/SDLC) is needed for a CONTRACT opportunity with Yoh's client located in SAN MATEO, CA.

- Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

- Creates, develops, plans, writes and edits operational, instructional, maintenance or test procedures for paper, multimedia or web-based publication.
- Researches and translates technical information into manuals and/or web-based documents for nontechnical and technical users.
- Document engineering processes and specifications.
- Interfacing with technical and non-technical cross-functional teams, SME and stakeholders

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING TO THE TABLE:

- Ten (10) years authoring and editing technical material used by software developers
- Able to read C, C++, C#, or Java code and write original API reference documentation
- Knowledgeable about RESTful services and APIs
- Experienced with documentation markup languages such as RAML
- Knowledgeable about component content management systems (CCMS's)
- Skilled with industry-standard authoring software and common documentation formats, including MS Word, XML, HTML, PDF, and CHM
- Able to communicate effectively between technical (ie developers, testers), non-technical (ie users, general staff) and cross-functional audiences
- BA/BS or Business or Engineering related degrees
