TECHNICAL WRITER

CONTRACT: 6-12 months (W2)

LOCATION: Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730

DEPARTMENT: ClaimsConnect Training

SIZE OF TEAM: 5 full time technical writers, 1 contractor, 1 manager

STAGE OF PROJECT: Implementation

TRAVEL: May be required to travel up to 10%; reimbursement will be available

ON-SITE/REMOTE: Option to work remotely is available, however while we onboard and train, resource will have to be on site. Also, resource has to be close enough to facility that if technical issues arise, they can drive to office for IT support and/or connectivity.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

- Develop desk level procedures (DLPs) for national implementation of new claims processing system across seven different regions
- Research existing policies and procedures, perform analysis to determine what existing processes/procedures will be leveraged versus what new needs are required per new system functionality/capabilities and/or optimized business processes
- Meet with subject matter experts, project managers, stakeholders, application build specialists, and other project partners to ensure desk level procedures capture accurate and clear processes
- Collaborate with testing partners to share information that can be leveraged for test script creation and execution and update desk level procedures as required by testing outcomes/feedback
- Capture screenshots from available test environments and/or schedule demo sessions to capture screenshots when environments are not readily available
- Provide regular and pro-active communication on progress, obstacles, accomplishment to manager, project management, and other stakeholders/executives

TOP DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Review business requirements and process documentation to identify and document manual processes
- Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) to document manual processes ensuring accuracy and completeness of processes/procedures for claims department end users
- Provide daily status report on progress, risks, issues, mitigation plans (where applicable) to ensure timely delivery of desk level procedures
- Collaborate and communicate with all project personnel including fellow technical writers, management, subject matter experts, business analysts, testers, trainers, and project stakeholders toward successful completion of desk level procedures
- Document multi-region desk level procedures in a single source RoboHelp environment utilizing conditional build tags to separate region-specific content while highlighting nationally shared similarities

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS:

- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 7 years' relevant experience
- Highly organized
- Clear verbal and written communication
- Excellent analytical skills required to simplify complex processes and translate them into easy to use/understand procedures
- Self-starter who can provide regular communication on progress/obstacles to technical writing manager
- Flexible, able to quickly shift gears to address competing and changing priorities
- Maintain positive attitude in high stress environment
