Technical Writer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create a broad variety of technical documentation. Authoring, editing, rewriting documentation, authenticating technical user manuals, application papers, product descriptions, data sheets, online product documents, interactive product tutorials and specification books. Make editorial and aesthetic improvements to documents and recommends new designs, layouts, and procedures. Act in a self-directed, consultant role to determine and understand internal and external customer needs for all things documentation. Analyze requirements, develop source material, consult engineering and technical staff and work with editors, illustrators and the like in preparing a draft. Guide and direct in the areas of quality, graphics, coverage, format and style. Oversee adherence to specifications.

SKILLS:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Four year degree in Business or Technology related fields, or
5 or more years' experience in technical writing, proposal writing, or editing
Strong verbal, presentation, communication and analytical skills
Must have prior experience taking the 'leadership' role in developing the documentation
Experience with Adobe Captivate, Adobe RoboHelp, IBMS simulation Producer, Lectora, Microsoft Office Suite, Trivantis, Visio
