TECHNICAL WRITER/WRITER/MECHANICAL/ELECTRO-MECHANICAL/SOLIDWORKS
My engineering client urgently requires a Technical Writer on a 3 month contract with possible extensions to start on the week beginning 8th/15th April.
The job would consist essentially in writing technical documents in English (Specifications sheets, Design and Maintenance manuals, Technical presentations, procedures or other documents), based on information or material that are generally generated by our Technology engineers and Project Development teams; then publishing them and eventually present the content to external parties.
These documents are most of the time dedicated to our Field Operations (Internal Customers) across the globe, and are used to understand, operate and maintain the Technical equipments adequately.
I would consider the following profile:
- Engineering back-ground
- Technology, Design or Manufacturing experience, in a mechanical or electro-mechanical environment ideally
- 5+ years of experience in writing technical documents
- Fluent in English - writing (excellent), verbal (good)
- Intensive Word (Microsoft Office) user (formatting, documents set-up, templates using)
- Hands-on equipment person, to familiarize himself with equipment to be documented and insure procedures/documents reflect all practical aspects
- Analytical mind (for technical approach) and synthesis aptitude (to build documents adapted to our Field/Operation personal needs (not literature)
- Excell, Powerpoint - optional, but good to have
- Solidworks 3D for graphic representation is a plus
The role is a 5 day a week position located on site in Belgium.
Expenses are not paid for costs incurred through travel/accommodation. Interviews would be ideally F2F.
